We’ve been waiting for this moment since the Game of Thrones Season 1 and it’s incredibly satisfying to see it happen. Ned Stark would be proud.

SPOILER WARNING! If you’re not caught up in Game of Thrones Season 7 episode 4 stop reading now.

That’s right people, we finally have a Stark reunion at Winterfell. Arya, the last of the living Stark siblings, has made her way home. Arya thwarted her plans to travel to King’s Land once she heard Jon Snow had taken back Winterfell to become the King of the North. She knew she had to ride back to home to see him once again.

When she arrives to the gates of Winterfell she asks the guards to inform her family that she’s returned. The guards do not believe Arya is actually Arya. The guards were told Arya is dead and the last living Stark relative had already returned, which was Bran. Arya asks to speak to with Maester Luwin, but she’s informed he is dead. Arya is fed up and demands to speak with Jon, but he’s out of town. The guards tell her the Lady of Winterfell is in charge until Jon returns. This is where Arya finds out that Sansa is alive and well.

Remember, Arya didn’t know the status of her remaining siblings. She probably assumed they were all dead once she found out King Joffrey was murdered. Arya had no way of knowing where Sansa was or what happened at Winterfell. Littlefinger would never let Cersei find out that Sansa is now in Winterfell, so he would’ve kept her status a secret. She probably heard that Bran and Rickon were murdered when the Boltons took over her home and didn’t think to see what was left of it. After all, Arya’s kill list was her number one priority. But we digress.

Arya manages to escape the guards. They’re forced to tell Sansa what happened with what they believe is some random girl claiming to be Arya. It’s not until the guards mention the detail about Maester Luwin that Sansa believes it’s Arya. The guards tell Sansa they will search for the girl, but Sansa knows where to find her: the family crypt. There, Arya and Sansa talk about their father Ned. Arya makes a comment about his statue not looking like him, to which Sansa replies with, “Well, everyone who knew his face is dead.” Arya responds, “Not us.” And the two hug and share a few more moments before Sansa tells her about Bran.

Thankfully, Bran’s reunion with Arya is less cringy than it was with Sansa. Bran only mentions seeing Arya at the crossroads; this is where Sansa tells Arya about Bran’s “visions.” Before the Stark reunion, Littlefinger had a brief chat with Bran. He gave Bran the dagger the cutthroat tried to use to kill him. Littlefinger tries to connect with Bran by expressing his sympathies regarding the chaos he’s returned to. Bran cuts him off and says, “Chaos is a ladder.” That was Bran’s way of telling Littlefinger he knows what he did.

But Bran hasn’t told the girls anything about Littlefinger. Instead, Bran gifts Arya with the valyrian steel dagger and the three Stark children head back to Winterfell. Brienne of Tarth looks on as the Stark children walk amongst the people of Winterfell. Podrick congratulates Brienne on keeping her vow to Catelyn Stark. Brienne tries to remain stone-faced, but you know she’s happy to see them together.

What did you think of the Stark reunion? We can’t wait until Jon returns to Winterfell, but something tells us it might be a while before Jon, Sansa, Bran and Arya are all in the same place. Share you thoughts in the comments section below.
