After weeks of speculation and alien abductions, Fortnite’s Season 7 is finally here. The theme for this season is all about the alien invaders called Kymera and with their looming threat, you need to be fully equipped to handle them.
You will have all-new weapons at your disposal, such as the Pulse Rifle, Rail Gun, and Recon Scanner. The last one is pretty special because you can use it to survey a particular area, allowing you to gain a tactical advantage.
What’s in the Battle Pass?
The game is no stranger to popular characters joining in. The latest battle pass allows you to get Rick Sanchez from the popular Rick and Morty animated series. Not only that, you also have the chance of acquiring Superman, which is a first for the Man of Steel.
There is a cool new twist when it comes to Season 7 Battle Pass. Instead of unlocking certain rewards through normal progression, players will be given some battle XP that they can use to buy the items that they want. Think of it as sort of a currency.
Players can get the battle pass for 950 V-Bucks or $9.50. Even if you start with a free battle pass from the outset, upgrading to the full battle pass will still take into account the battle XP you’ve gotten so far.
Weapon Crafting is Still Here
Players had to bid farewell to Primal and Mechanical weapons, but for some reason, developers didn’t fully remove weapon crafting in general.
Instead of foraging for Primal parts like claws and teeth, players would have to collect nuts and bolts to create new weapons that can help them fight the aliens. Also, some of the previously vaulted items are making a comeback, so you can craft them if you want.
The UFOs Are Coming
One of the biggest features in the latest season is the introduction of alien technology which you can use to gain the upper hand.
The UFO is the latest type of vehicle that allows several things, including its tractor beam to grab objects and its ray gun to destroy buildings and structures.
To pilot one of these things, you’d have to search for a purple figure on the mini-map. They usually reside in one of the named locations in the game.
Upon close encounter, the UFO will land and its pilot will attack you. After defeating it, you can now commandeer the spaceship and wreak havoc!
