Five Nights At Freddy’s: Sister Location leaks have revealed which characters will be featured in the free Custom Night update. Voice actors have publicly announced their involvement on Scott Cawthon’s Voices page.

This deals with leaks, so anyone that doesn’t want to know SPOILERS about the mode should stop reading now.

With that warning out of the way, however, we can now relay that the voice talent for Bidybab, Ballora and Funtime Freddy will be involved with the project. In all listings, the job is described as each designated character’s “return.”

The latest Scott Games teaser heavily implied at least Bidybab would be present, but now we know a few other characters too. Especially given the fate of Ballora and Funtime Freddy in Sister Location’s canon story, that offers a lot of perspective. If the so-called real ending is to be believed, both animatronics have left the establishment as parts of the humanized form of Ennard. Ergo, they can’t really return in their standard design.

With that in mind, the leak tells us that Custom Night in Sister Location likely won’t be tied to the official narrative at all. In fact, Cawthon himself confirmed as much in a Steam Community post last week. The free mode will “not be canon” at risk of “screw[ing] up the entire plotline,” he said. If Freddy and Ballora are involved, that assertion makes complete sense.

The post also says the update will be added for free to all owners of Five Nights At Freddy’s: Sister Location on Steam. Since it’s not part of the main story, players with three-star rankings will be able to find it in the Extras menu when the finished product becomes available in December.

Five Nights At Freddy’s games have historically used Custom Night modes to reveal remaining story clues, but leaks and official statements suggest that trend won’t continue this time around. In other words, the resulting experience appears somewhat similar to the non-canon Five Nights At Freddy’s 4 patch that went live last Halloween. The mysteries that currently remain unsolved will have to stay that way until Scott decides to release a sequel.
