A brand new update for Fire Emblem Heroes is here and it brings a lot of new content and revamped battle functions to the popular mobile game.

The first big update is the addition of Sacred Seals. Your hero pages have an A, B and C slot for special skills. Sacred Seals open up a new S slot for this special equipment. Sacred Seals are earned through special quests and the only Seals in the game, so far, increase one stat. If you obtain a duplicate Sacred Seal, it will automatically be converted into Hero Feathers. More Sacred Seals will be added to Fire Emblem Heroes over time.

Speaking of Hero Feathers, the Hero Merit feature will give heroes a chance to earn Hero Feathers even faster. During battle, each hero will earn Hero Merit and once you hit 500 you’ll earn 500 Hero Feathers. Each hero can only gain a max of 2000 Hero Merits and that includes duplicates of the same hero. The stronger the map, the more Hero Merits are earned.

Another new change to Fire Emblem Heroes is the ability to swap positions before a battle begins. This function was noticeably absent when the mobile game was released but now it’s more like the other Fire Emblem games, allowing for players to rearrange their heroes before a move is made.

If you’re merging heroes, ALL inherited skills of the unit you’re losing AND their progress on learning those abilities will be passed on.

As for new characters, Alm, Claire, Lukas and Faye are coming to Fire Emblem Heroes in the World of Shadows update that also includes a new paralogue story starting April 14. Check out the trailer below.
