Fallout 4 Nuka World DLC was previously advertised by Bethesda as the game’s last piece of extra content, but new rumors suggest that something else may be in the works. Studio marketing VP Pete Hines has responded to the speculation in a rather precise way.

For those that missed the new developments, one particularly zealous fan has noticed that Fallout 4’s SteamDB page was recently updated. Under the DLC section is a listing for “SteamDB Unknown App” that was updated about nine days ago. It appears directly above “Fallout 4 - Nuka World” and the other season pass content. At face value it looks like some unknown DLC is on the way, but is that the truth?

If Hines’ tweets are any indication, he’d like to create the appearance of a resounding no. In response to the flood of fan questions on the topic, he has reiterated that “Nuka World was the last DLC” and “Nuka world was the final one.” After being directed to the SteamDB listing, he simply said “yeah I’m aware.”

At face value it seems like Hines is completely denying the existence of more Fallout 4 DLC, but his specific choice to repeatedly tell his followers that Nuka World “was” the last piece of content is interesting. It suggests that maybe the latest story pack was originally intended to close out the season pass when it was announced, but maybe those plans have changed. Of course, that’s just speculation on our part.

If Nuka World is truly the end for Fallout 4, there are other ways the SteamDB listing can be explained. With all of its content supposedly released, maybe Bethesda is simply preparing for a game of the year edition on Steam that would include the entire set for a single price. Not only is that trend popular for most games with a season pass, but the same was also specifically done for Fallout 3. The listing could stand in for that feature-packed bundle. A small crop of Workshop content could be in the works too. Something is absolutely happening with Fallout 4’s Steam page, but it’s hard to pinpoint what that means.

Fallout 4 is available now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

What do this SteamDB listing and Hines’ cryptic tweets mean? Will we see more DLC for Fallout 4? Tell us in the comments section!
