See where your favorite driver stands. EA Sports

There are still a few days left before EA Sports F1 23 is officially released. The good news is we're getting a look at the Driver Ratings available at launch day this early.

In a statement, Codemasters F1 Brand Director John Merchant revealed that it's always been exciting to see the passion, camaraderie, and most especially the banter among Formula 1 drivers, thanks to the game's Driver Ratings. He added, to put better balance between different drivers, they made sure to work closely with a panel of experts.

Before giving out the rankings, you can watch some of the drivers trying to guess their ratings in the video below:

The dynamic ratings of the drivers are broken into four categories in addition to an overall score. The categories are:

  • Experience (EXP)
    • This is based on the number of race starts a driver has over the course of their career.
  • Racecraft (RAC)
    • The driver's ability to work their way through the pack and finish in a higher position than where they started.
  • Awareness (AWA)
    • The less time spent in the Steward's room helps drivers here.
    • Real-world punishments impact the score in this category.
  • Pace (PAC)
    • Benefits those who get closest to the fastest qualifying and race lap times.
    • A driver beating their teammate is also taken into consideration.
  • Rating (RTG)
    • The combination of the previous four ratings.
    • This overall rating goes up and down across the season based on performance.

Now that we have everything out of the way, the overall ratings are:

  • Max Verstappen: 94
  • Lewis Hamilton: 92
  • Fernando Alonso: 92
  • Charles Leclerc: 89
  • Sergio Perez: 89
  • Lando Norris: 89
  • Carlos Sainz Jr.: 88
  • George Russell: 88
  • Valtteri Bottas: 87
