Dragon Quest of the Stars is preparing to arrive in the West early next year. Square Enix went on to announce that gamers who want to try out this hit mobile RPG can now register and be part of the Closed Beta Test for the Android version. However, this is only going to be available in select regions.
Dragon Quest of the Stars was released in Japan back in 2015 and became a critical hit with at least 20 million downloads. The game lets players take an intergalactic journey in order to prevent the destruction of entire planets and worlds.
Players are able to create not only their own custom character, but also two companions as they go on a journey in solo mode. What's even more interesting is that the characters have been designed by none other than artist Akira Toriyama, known for works such as Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball. Dragon Quest of the Stars is not all solo play, as players can also be part of multiplayer modes playing with three other players. The game also has themed stickers that have been designed by popular illustrator and emoji creator Kanahei.
In Dragon Quest of the Stars, players fight against monsters from the classic Dragon Quest series. Players can use touch controls to strategically activate skills. Powerful attack combos are made possible through strategic management of the skill gauge. In addition, before any fight players can choose up to four items that can give them the needed edge or one food item that can restore HP during combat.
Closed Beta Test
The closed beta test begins October 30 and ends November 28. Below is some of the key information you need to keep in mind for the closed beta test:
- Only devices that run on Android 4.1 and above are supported.
- The slots for the closed beta test are limited. If the number of registrations go over the limit, users are going to be selected at random with eligible participants being notified individually.
- In-app purchases are not available during the Closer Beta Test but a limited amount of gem bundles are available for free at the in-game Gem Shop.
- Those who get to participate in the Closed Beta Test receive a special reward once the game is officially launched.
- Closed Beta Test is only available in a few regions.
