It’s been a week since Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was released Internationally and Bandai Namco has announced the sequel to the 2014 fighting game is outpacing its predecessor with an impressive shipment of 1.4 million units worldwide.

To put the numbers into perspective, the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse took about a month to reach 1.5 million shipped units.

Even more impressive is that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 finally released in Japan, the birthplace of the Dragon Ball series, on Nov. 2 so those numbers will be rising very soon.

The original Xenoverse game has reached over four million units shipped to date and Xenoverse 2 will likely surpass that figure much faster.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 added more character creation options like transformations for the races other than Saiyan and an improved fighting system, which looks better at 60 fps compared to the 30 fps in the original game.

The story is deeper with side missions and a revamped mentor system that gives players a lot to do outside the main campaign.

Hopefully, the sales figures for Xenoverse 2 will give Bandai Namco the greenlight to make a Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 .

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is now available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
