Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has the largest roster of characters for players to dive in and pummel each other with.
Spanning from the main anime/manga series to the one-off movies to Dragon Ball GT, Xenoverse 2 has a character for everybody but they are not all available from when you boot up the game for the first time.
There are three ways (outside of DLC) that players can obtain every fighter in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and we will break down which characters are available and when you can access them.
STORY
The first and easiest way to unlock fighters in Xenoverse 2 is to progress through the story. Not only will characters become available but alternate costumes and movesets for these fighters will appear in the character selection screen.
Which characters appear during which parts of the story? Well, it’s easy to see when you can get every fighter.
Playing through the Saiyan Saga, for example, will give you access to Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta and the Z-Fighters tasked with taking them down.
Frieza Saga gives Zarbon, Dodoria the Ginyu Force, Frieza and so forth. Pretty much any character you face will become available once they are defeated so make sure to play through the entire story to unlock everyone.
DRAGON BALL WISHES
There are four characters that can only be obtained through making a wish to Shenron. To do so, you’ll need to collect all seven Dragon Balls and choose “I want more useable Characters.”
You will get one of four characters: Hit, Ice, Nova and Omega Shenron.

PARALLEL QUESTS
The most time-consuming method of obtaining new characters in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is by completing all 100 Parallel Quests.
Certain characters can only be obtained by Ultimate Finishing certain Parallel Quests. These characters include Super Vegito and Super Saiyan Gogeta.
