Dota 2: Turbo Mode Hero Selections Now Blind in Patch 7.32e

Prepare for exciting games. Valve

If you're new to Dota 2, chances are someone has told you not to try the Turbo mode. If Valve is to be believed, the popularity of this mode is increasing. To make sure that the overall game experience is improved for those who like to play it, Patch 7.32e introduced some changes.

Turbo will be even more fun with all hero selections now blind. Blind hero selections mean that a player can pick a hero from the roster but the other side won't be able to see what is chosen. There will also be no penalty phase when picking heroes and instead, when the regular draft time ends, any player that hasn't selected a hero is forced to pick whomever they have tentatively picked. If that hero is unavailable or there's no tentative pick, the player is given a random hero.

It's clear that these changes are aimed at making Turbo more exciting. Not only is counter-picking no longer possible but also players taking too long to decide which hero to use is minimized.

Other changes include:

  • Null Talisman, Wraith Band, and Bracer now double their bonuses at 12 minutes instead of 25 minutes.
  • Removed bonus damage to towers from all summoned units.
  • Non-summoned units like lane creeps and dominated creeps are still stronger against towers compared to non-Turbo Dota.
  • Players can now earn two stars for hero challenges instead of just one.

Arcana Changes

Patch 7.32e also updates Arcana progress which include:

  • Earthshaker's Planetfall Arcana now gives full credit for Echo Slam kills and assists.
    • Tracking for ability chains and combo damage is also enabled.
  • Invoker Dark Artistry Throwback Immortal now gives full credit for Sun Strike Kills.
  • Juggernaut's Bladeform Legacy Arcana now gives full credit for Omnislash Kills.
  • Kunkka's Leviathan Whale Blade of Eminent Revival Immortal now gives full credit for hitting heroes with Torrent.
  • Legion Commander Arcana now counts Duel Victories.
  • Leshrac's Tormented Staff of Eminent Revival Immortal now gives full credit for stunning enemies with Split Earth.
  • Lion's Fin King's Charm of Eminent Revival Immortal now gives full credit for hexing enemies.
  • Lone Druid's Cauldron of Xahryx of Eminent Revival Immortal now gives full credit for Entangling Claws duration.
  • Storm Spirit's The Lightning Orchid of Eminent Revival Immortal now gives full credit for Ball Lightning damage.

Aside from what’s already mentioned, Patch 7.32e introduced the new hero Muerta and the Spring update for Dota Plus. Dota 2 is available on PC through Steam.
