Look who's back.
Look who's back. OG

Dota 2 team OG made changes to its roster which could have caused some rather confusing feelings for some of its fans. On the one hand, Sébastien “Ceb” Debs is now back on active status. On the flip side, the team made the decision to let go of Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan. With Ceb taking SumaiL's spot at Position 3, this means that Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng is now on Position 1.

Still, the change couldn’t have come at a better time as OG is taking part in OGA Dota PIT S2: Europe CIS, which starts today. OG is going to face Vikin.gg in their first game.

It was back in January of this year when Ceb made the announcement that he would be stepping back from the OG roster. However, he remained in the OG organization, working behind the scenes as Head of Performance to help players improve. You can read more on that here.

In a statement posted on the OG website, Ceb said that one of the reasons for his return is that he remains a competitor at heart and “kinda take offense in the simple fact that other team think they can beat us.” He also was cited as miss playing with friends, adding that for each “game they play in which I’m not playing felt like a waste of my time.”

On SumaiL leaving the team, OG said that he remains to be one of the world’s best players and they “thank him for his time spent with us and wish him the best.”

The question that remains right now is how other teams are going to deal with the new OG roster.

Other Roster News

Ceb going back to active status may be one of the biggest roster announcements so far this month. However, there are some interesting changes happening in other regions as well.

In the SEA Region, Neon Esports said goodbye to Rafael Sicat “Rappy” Palo. In a Facebook post, Neon said that Rappy has played more than 1,000 games for the team and they wouldn’t “be where we are today without his skill and experience.” Replacing Rappy on a trial basis is Samson Solomon Enojosa “Sam_H” Hidalgo. Dota 2 fans may remember him as part of the TNC team that went to TI6, TI7, and TI8. He joins the Neon on Position 3.

Lots of thanks.

Over in CIS, Winstrike Team is going through another shuffle as they benched three players and signed up new ones. This is not their first major shuffle as back in February the Winstrike roster was initially disbanded due to unsatisfactory results. A day later the new roster was signed with players from Modus Unity. Their first tournament is going to be the OMEGA League: East Europe Qualifier, which starts tomorrow.
