Dota 2 is bringing back the Diretide game mode, or rather a new version of it. In this year's version of Dota 2 Diretide mode, players collect and steal candy from enemies while making sure to keep Roshan at bay. This best of five brawl is going to be available to everyone until December 22.

While the Dota 2 Diretide mode is available, those who player play will be rewarded with Diretide points. What can you spend Diretide Points on? For every 100 Diretide Points collected, players get to receive one of more than 75 unique rewards that include:

  • Exclusive sets
  • Couriers
  • Wards
  • Chest of the Diretide
  • Pumpkin Head equippable by any hero
  • Ghostly costumes for the player’s heroes and courier
  • An alternate in-game art style global item
  • Chat wheel lines
  • Sprays
  • MMR Double down tokens

Diretide is not the only Dota 2 Halloween celebration that’s making a return. The Hallowed Chest of the Diretide is also back. It’s going to offer over 60 items among five tiers that include Immortals and Emblems, and reintroduces the Chest and Key system. Chests and their contents are immediately marketable and can be purchased, as well as sold, on the Marketplace directly from inside the client.

In addition, a Trade Up system is also going to be introduced which lets players turn 10 items of a tier into a random item of a tier higher. Those who don’t have 10 items of the same tier need not worry. The game is going to help players automatically fill the empty slots with the cheapest items from the marketplace so that players you can find the best bargains and turn them into more valuable items.

Similar to crates in CS:GO, the odds of tier 1 to tier 4 are 1:5 compared to the tier immediately below. The odds for the cosmically rare emblems are 1:100,000, like previous emblems.

TI 10 Arcana

While there may have been no TI competition this year, that didn’t stop Valve from releasing a Battle Pass. One feature of the Battle Pass was to give players the chance to vote for a new Arcana. For the 2020 Aracana Vote, Spectre won against Faceless Void with a lead of more than 2 million votes. That means Valve is now going to design an Arcana befitting with Mercurial, the Spectre.
