Things are off to a good start at the Dota 2 WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020. Both Geek Fam and Fighting PandaS won their respective opening matches. In the other set of matches, Royal Never Give Up and Gambit Esports also beat their respective opponents.
Group A
Group A includes Geek Fam, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Royal Never Give Up, and Team Spirit. The matches for the day included Geek Fam against NiP with RNG taking on Team Spirit.
In the first match, Geek Fam had a good start, particularly in the laning phase. However, mistakes on their end allowed NiP to take the advantage. A team fight went in favor of Geek Fam and they never looked backed. The second game, however, was a blowout. While new Geek Fam member Karl "Karl" Jayme made some mistakes in the first game, it appears that he made up for it in the second one. Karl had a good performance on Outworld Devourer, ending the game with 18 kills and only one death.
The second match was also a sweep and ended faster as RNG beat Team Spirit. In the first game, Spirit had a hard time finding an answer to RNG's picks. The second game was even shorter, with Spirit only managing four kills against RNG's 13.
The second day sees NiP take on Spirit with the loser being eliminated from the tournament. Geek Fam also takes on RNG after, with the winner securing a spot in the Playoffs.
Group B
In the first match, it was Fighting PandaS against Nigma. Jacky "EternaLEnVy" Mao led the PandaS to victory with a strong showing on Drow Ranger. Helping with the win was teammate Jonathan "Bryle" De Guia. Nigma, however, did not go down fighting easily with Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi on Ember Spirit getting 19 kills and no deaths. This led to a Game 3, but EternaLEnVy could not be denied a win thank to support from Bryle. Bryle was also unstoppable, with the two having zero deaths.
The next match saw Gambit dominate FURIA. FURIA could only get three team kills against Gambit's 22 in a game that lasted just a little above 30 minutes. The second game was no different. Kiyalbek "dream`" Tayirov scored 15 kills with only one death. Meanwhile, both Danil "gpk" Skutin and Danial "XSvamp1Re" Alibaev had seven kills and no deaths.
The second day includes FURIA playing against Nigma, with the loser getting eliminated from the Minors. The second match is between Gambit and PandaS, with the winner moving to the Playoffs.
