The largest prize pool ever.
The largest prize pool ever. Valve

It looks like the biggest event in Dota 2 is happening this year. Valve confirmed that the Aegis of Champions is back waiting for the names of new champions. Since it wasn’t held last year, it’s still going to be called The International 10, scheduled in August and held in Stockholm, Sweden. The biggest news, however, is that the prize pool is now at $40,018,195.

The Group Stage from August 5 to 8 with the Main Event expected to start August 10.

In a post, Valve revealed that considering the ongoing pandemic, they are continuing to focus on finding a way to make sure that the tournament proceeds as scheduled in the safest way possible. The company said that it is waiting for additional details to arrive before releasing more information. Valve hopes to share more with the community sometime in June.

Upcoming Game Events

With what’s been happening so far, Valve shared its plans about something this year. For example, instead of a single overarching summer event, there will be two separate events. The first event should arrive sometime in mid-to-late June, while the second event is scheduled after TI.

DPC Season 2

If you’ve been following the ongoing DPC, it’s currently on Season 2 and things are indeed heating up. For some regions, the teams that topped in Season 1 are the same teams to beat in Season 2.
