Bandai Namco revealed a lot of news at Tokyo Game Show with the announcement of a new Digimon game being one of the largest.

Digimon World: Next Order will allow players to go back to the Digital World but they will soon learn that it has become overrun with Machinedragmons. You are then saved by two Digimon partners as you befriend them and partner up to find out what exactly happened to the Digital World.

This will mark the first time in the franchise’s history that you’ll start with two Digimon partners. From the trailers and art, it seems Agumon and Gabumon will be your two partners.

Players will be able to choose between a male and female protagonist, and meet over 200 Digimon to recruit and interact with on your journey.

“The Digimon franchise is enjoying a resurgence in popularity and we’re excited to deliver a new Digimon adventure to fans; fueling the flames of their enthusiasm.” said Jason Enos, Director of Brand & Latin America Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc in a press release. “With Digimon World: Next Order we’re taking the concept of raising and nurturing Digimon to a new level. Only the best and most diligent Digimon Tamers will be able to save the Digital World from its eminent destruction.”

Bandai Namco released Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth back in February where your character and your partner Digimon journeyed between the real world and Digital World to unlock the mystery of the rogue Digimon.

But unlike that game, Next Order doesn’t seem to be a turn-based battle game. Instead, it seems like it will be more hack and slash similar to Xenoblade Chronicles but in an enclosed area.

Digimon World: Next Order will be released digitally for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita and as a physical release for the PS4 in early 2017.
