Update 3 (9/12): The Destiny 2 servers are currently down for weekly maintenance. Bungie says the game should be accessible again around 2 p.m. (EDT) on Tuesday afternoon.

Update 2 (9/7/2017): PS4 and Xbox One players are both experiencing some trouble with the Destiny 2 servers this morning. Bungie already has a workaround for anyone getting the CE-34878-0 error on PS4 but the Xbox One community will have to keep waiting for an official fix.

Update 1 (9/6/2017): It took a few hours but it sounds like the Destiny 2 servers are starting to lose their battle for uptime. Bungie hasn't named a cause for the random game crashes being experienced by PS4 users. But if you're struggling to keep the game running properly, it might help to know that you aren't alone.

Original Story

Destiny 2 is finally here!

But it wouldn’t be a Destiny launch without a heaping helping of server and connection issues. We’ll be gathering all the information we can on this page, including suggested workarounds from Bungie and the Destiny community, and doing everything we can to get you into Destiny 2 as quickly as possible. Let’s just hope the turnaround time on server stability is a bit faster than we saw with vanilla Destiny back in 2014.

As of 2:24 p.m. (EST) on Sept. 7, the Destiny 2 servers are up!

Information is understandably scarce at the moment. The Destiny 2 servers only opened up a few minutes ago and there shouldn’t be much surprise among Destiny’s biggest fans. The biggest problem right now seems to be that all the servers are at capacity. But we’ll update this page as new information becomes available.

In the meantime, Bungie published a new trailer for the Destiny 2 soundtrack on Tuesday. It’s certainly not as entertaining as battling the Cabal or rallying the last defenders of mankind. But it might help you kill a few minutes while you wait for the Destiny 2 servers to come back online.

Destiny 2 is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game heads to consoles on Sept. 6 before making the jump to PC in October.
