It was last week when 505 Games made the surprise announcement that Hideo Konjia's Death Stranding was arriving on the PC in the Summer of 2020. The game is set to be launched through both Steam and the Epic Games store.

If you're a PC player, then here's some good news. Pre-orders for Death Stranding are now open. The game is priced at $59.99. You can get more information for the pre-order on Epic Games and Steam.

Since its reveal, Death Stranding has been considered as one of most anticipated games of the last decade. The game stars Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Mads Mikkelsen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and Léa Seydoux (Spectre). There are also additional appearances by Academy Award winning director Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water), comedian and television host Conan O’Brien (TBS’ Conan) and games personality Geoff Keighley, creator of The Game Awards.

Death Stranding is set in the near future where mysterious explosions have set off a series of supernatural events called the Death Stranding. This has led to spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, resulting in the planet being on the verge of a mass extinction. The remaining population have confined themselves to remote colonies that rely on the services of a company known as Bridges. Bridges employ couriers brave enough to go out and deliver supplies to the colonies. Players take on the role of Sam Bridges, who must journey across the ravaged landscape to save mankind from the brink of extinction.

The game is already available for the PlayStation 4. You can read more about that here.

Early reviews for Death Stranding have so far been positive, with many praising the unique concepts, voice acting, graphics, and appeal. However, there have also been criticisms on the bloated and slow-paced gameplay.

Death Stranding was created by Kojima Productions, headed by none other than renowned game creator Hideo Kojima. The studio was established in December 2015 and developed Death Stranding in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment.

A subsidiary of company Digital Bros., 505 Games is a publisher focused on offering a wide range of titles for players of all ages and skills.
