The latest public beta update for Dead by Daylight is here. Patch 5.7.0 reworks Hemorrhage - one of the most overlooked status effects in the game. It also removes the difficulty ratings for survivors.

Developers from Behaviour Interactive know that Hemorrhage has a reputation for being a useless status effect. It is used to make Survivors bleed profusely, with blood splatters being more apparent, thus making them easier for Killers to track.

Devs want to make it better, so they’ve completely changed how Hemorrhage works. Now, when you are afflicted with this effect, your healing progression regresses at a steady rate of 7% per second when not being healed. So, a 99% full heal would take 14 seconds to complete. As a result of this change, the Sloppy Butcher perk and the Nightmare’s “Z” Block add-on have been modified to take the Hemorrhage rework into account.

Another notable thing in Patch 5.7.0 is that the difficulty ratings have changed for both Survivors and Killers. First, it has been completely removed for Survivors since their mechanics are relatively the same anyway. Second, difficulty ratings for Killers are now easy, moderate, hard, and very hard.

Difficulty ratings are a sort of description of how hard (or easy) it is to use and master a particular Killer. You can read more about them, along with some update highlights below:

GENERAL
Difficulty Ratings
  • Easy: These Killers are the easiest for a first-time player
  • Moderate: Require the player to be comfortable with the basics of the role, though the Killers share common mechanics with those from the Easy category
  • Hard: Use mechanics that are specific to the Killer and require more practice to be effective
  • Very Hard: Require a high amount of practice and understanding, inexperienced players would likely find little success when using them
PERKS
Boil Over
  • Increases struggling effects by 60/70/80%
Boon: Circle of Healing
  • Increases healing speed bonus by 40/45/50%
Sloppy Butcher
  • Increases the rate at which healing progression is lost by 15/20/25%
The Nightmare
  • Add-on: “Z” Block
    • Survivors interacting with a Dream Trap suffer from the Hemorrhage Status Effect for 90 seconds (was 60 seconds, no longer causes them to bleed when healthy)

Since Patch 5.5.0 PTB, developers reduced the game’s file size considerably. However, this latest beta update is noticeably larger because of an engine update. It is worth noting that you may encounter some crashing issues because of this. If you experience them, be sure to create a crash report immediately.

Dead by Daylight Patch 5.7.0 PTB is available on PC.
