If you were worried about whether Cyberpunk 2077 will be delayed because of the coronavirus outbreak, well, don’t be. While CD Projekt Red has been affected by the virus, the company has assured fans that their upcoming game won’t be delayed as a result. CD Project is adopting a remote work policy in order to ensure the safety of its employees. This step is new for the company and does present some challenges, but developers are sure that they will meet the deadline.

The announcement was made via the official Twitter account.

CD Projekt Red is also improving its infrastructure to minimize any risks. “Over the past week we have been adapting to the situation and gradually rolling out preventive measures across our entire organization. We've also been upgrading equipment & infrastructure and working towards enabling our employees to work remotely, from the safety of their home,” the tweet read.

Many fans did praise the developers for their dedication, but some also suggested that they will understand if there is another delay. Twitter user Whale Appreciator replied, saying “Your employees come first, if this game needs to be delayed no one will blame you. In fact I've love for this game to be delayed if it means it kept your folks safe.”

Cyberpunk 2077 was initially supposed to launch in April 2020, but the company decided to delay the product until September as they needed more time for a final polish. CD Projekt's reputation in the gaming industry is very good (thanks to The Witcher 3), and because of this fans have been very understanding.

Coronavirus has greatly affected the gaming industry with many events such as GDC 2020 and E3 2020 having already been canceled. Multiple gaming tournaments have also been delayed indefinitely. You can go to the official CDC website and the World Health Organization website for more information about the Covid-19 outbreak.

So what do you think? Are you still excited about Cyberpunk 2077? Will you be okay with another delay? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
