CD PROJEKT RED, the developer of Cyberpunk 2077, issued a public apology to Xbox One and PS4 players. The performance of Cyberpunk 2077 has been terrible across all platforms. But previous generation consoles got hit the worst. Both Xbox and PS4 could only run it at terrible resolutions and framerates.

The developers mentioned they haven’t paid much attention before the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 on the Xbox One and PS4. This explained why the game is almost unplayable on these consoles. Moreover, they promised bug fixes, crashes, and improvements in the overall experience. You can expect the patch to go live after the holidays sometime in January. The major patches will roll out in two parts. One coming out in January and another in February. These updates promise better performance to make the game enjoyable.

For those unsatisfied, CD PROJEKT RED allows a refund of the game if purchased through the Xbox/PSN store. Players who’ve bought the boxed version, meanwhile, have to try it at stores. If stores don’t accept it, you can contact the developer via helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com to discuss the refund. The refund process is live until December 21, 2020.

The developers seem to be going in the right direction by assisting players unsatisfied with their console experience. While it’s wrong for CD PROJEKT RED to release a game in such a terrible state, we can only wait for the developers to fix all the issues on time.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and PC.

So, what do you think about CD PROJEKT RED’s decision to refund the purchases and fix the bugs? Personally, I think it’s the best step the developer can take for saving the game in the long run. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
