CD Projekt Red has seen steady growth since its formation, but the rise of the company had suddenly blown up in the past few years. The rise to fame and success was mainly thanks to their launch of The Witcher 3, which included multiple expansions. The Polish company was valued at $1.6 billion in 2017, and that figure had risen to an impressive $6.8 billion as of last month.

Now, within this month, the studio has seen even more growth with their valuation standing at over $8 billion. CD Projekt Red’s growth doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, though it’s incredibly impressive nonetheless. In fact, CD Projekt Red has now become the second-biggest video game company in Europe, with French-based Ubisoft leading the way. By comparison, Ubisoft has a market valuation of over $9.5 billion.

One of the few reasons why The Witcher series became more popular was due to the fact that Netflix has made a live-action adaptation of the The Witcher books, and it was mind-blowing. Although not related to the series, CD Projekt Red saw sales blow up by 554 percent in December, while also breaking 100,000 concurrent The Witcher 3 players on Steam.

“The accumulated revenue from sales of The Witcher 3 on the Steam platform for the period of time between October 1st, 2018 and today has exceeded $50M USD. As a result, we are now getting 80 percent on any subsequent sales of TW3 on Steam.” tweeted CD Projekt Red.

So, what are your thoughts on CD Projekt Red’s rise to fame and success? Do you think CD Projekt Red should add in more games to their development schedule? Personally, I would love to play anything CD Projekt Red’s team develops and I can't wait for the introduction for Cyberpunk 2077. Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
