Call Of Duty WWII DLC 1
Call Of Duty: WWII’s Resistance DLC introduces four multiplayer maps and a new Zombies chapter. Resist German occupation throughout Europe. Call Of Duty: WWII Resistance comes to PS4 Jan. 30. Sledgehammer Games/Activison

Call Of Duty: WWII ’s first DLC officially has a release date. The so-called Resistance expansion will debut first on PS4 Jan. 30. The new content includes three multiplayer maps, one War Mode map and a brand new Zombies chapter.

The trailer recaps the goodies in video form, but here’s what we know:

  • Valkyrie: Set during the infamous assassination attempt on Hitler in Prussia, the map features wide lanes for snipers on the outside as well as plenty of run-and-gun avenues towards the center.
  • Anthropoid: The map takes place in occupied Prague. Much like Gibraltar, this is a height-focused map. However, there are tight interiors for those who’d like to use a different strategy.
  • Occupation: It’s a remake of the Resistance map from Modern Warfare 3 as pictured in 1940s France. There are lots of long sightlines for snipers.
  • Operation Intercept [War Mode]: Allies play as the French Forces Of The Interior. Objectives include rescuing Resistance fighters, capturing radio equipment and leading the attack.
  • The Darkest Shore: Intel takes the co-op quartet to a foggy island north of Germany. The map itself emphasizes fog. There’s a new all-purpose weapon called the Ripsaw, as well as a clever and strategic zombie type.

After experimenting with the Resistance storyline in the mid-chapters of Call of Duty WWII’s campaign, the Sledgehammer team felt passionate enough to bring those stories to multiplayer. The DLC essentially narrows the scope of the narrative for these maps to highlight a fairly unique portion of the much larger concept. We expect to see a similar strategy employed in future DLC releases throughout 2018.

Call Of Duty: WWII is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Resistance DLC will come to Xbox One and PC approximately one month after the PS4 version.
