If you’re one of those who’ve always wanted to know what it means to be a Vault Hunter, then now is the time. Borderlands 3 is having a Free Play Weekend. It’s going to be offered for various platforms though the start and end times vary.

To play during Free Play Weekend, just look for the Standard Edition on the online store of the platform you are planning to use. Here are the platforms and their respective schedules:

  • Steam Free Play
    • Start: October 14 at 1:00 p.m. ET
    • End: October 16 at 1:00 p.m. ET
  • PlayStation Free Play (PlayStation Plus Needed)
    • Start: October 14 at 12:00 p.m. ET
    • End: October 17 at 12:00 p.m. ET
  • Xbox Free Play
    • Start: October 14 at 3:00 a.m. ET
    • End: October 18 at 2:59 a.m. ET
  • Stadia Free Play
    • Start: October 14 at 12:00 p.m. ET
    • End: October 18 at 12:00 p.m. ET

During the Free Play Weekend, new players get the chance to take on the Calypso Twins and the Children of the Vault cult in the main story. Everyone can also enjoy various free post-launch content added to the game. There are also three seasonal events: Bloody Harvest, Broken Hearts Day, and Revenge of the Cartels.

As if that’s not enough, the Free Play Weekend also allows crossplay between PC, Mac, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Physical Disc

Pre-orders for the limited run of the Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition on physical PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X discs are now live. So, don’t take too long to decide if you want to get it or not.

This edition gives the ultimate Borderlands 3 experience. Not only does it has the base game but also all six content add-ons along with bonus cosmetic packs. It’s launching on November 12. Learn more about it here.

Borderlands 3 was released in 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. Versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S were made available in 2020. While the game is a sequel to Borderlands 2, it is the fourth game in the Borderlands franchise.
