The second closed beta for Blackout Protocol is running from April 6 to April 10. Those interested to try out this new three-player co-op action should head over to the game's Steam page and register.

Blackout Protocol invites everyone to a wild twin-stick shooter where three players are deployed in a remote containment facility that experienced an internal breach and has gone dark. The three agents need to shoot their way through hordes of creatures and see if they can reach the safe zone.

In the game, players take on the role of employees of S2P Corporation. An internal containment breach knocked out the power at Section 13. This is an underground research base where the most dangerous subjects are contained.

Game Features

  • Watch Your Backs and Your Aim
    • To survive, communication between coworkers is key.
    • Gather your trio and make sure to cover each other’s back as you take each floor of Section 13.
    • Be careful where you point that prototype lightning cannon since friendly-fire is a constant threat.
  • Illuminate the Situation
    • Be careful of the foul creatures that lurk in the shadows.
    • To gain control, it's important to wield light against these creatures. Use your trusty flashlight to get the advantage.
    • Remember that monsters react to being exposed in unique ways.
  • Try Not to Panic
    • Every job has its stressors and in this one, it's the debilitating psionic damage caused by traumatic contact with otherworldly horrors.
    • As you fight your way to the heart of the facility, keep a close watch on the Panic Gauge.
  • Get Better or Get Stronger
    • To support the mission, that corporation is giving select agents access to its platinum benefits package which is the Death Nullification System or DNS.
    • Should the mission fail, the DNS evacuates your consciousness and transmits it backward through time.
    • This should allow you to preserve certain skills and abilities between runs and make sure that the next attempt becomes a little bit easier.
