If a free weekend of Gears 5 and The Crew 2 wasn’t enough for you, now you can also enjoy Assassin Creed 2 for free. Due to the on-going COVID-19 outbreak, many gaming companies are doing their part to make the lockdown a little bit easier.
Multiple games have become free-to-play for a weekend (or have been straight up given away) to keep the players entertained. To keep the momentum up, publishing giant Ubisoft is giving away Assassin Creed 2 for completely free. AC2 is one of the best Assassin Creed games, and was also the debut title for the fan-favorite character Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
The game is only available for PC players and can be claimed on Uplay from today to April 17. If you haven’t played the original Assassin Creed then this is the best place to start. AC2 also has two more story sequels, Brotherhood and Revelation which ties up the story of Ezio.
That’s not the only game that you can play for free. Another big title, Total War: Shogun 2 is supposed to go free from April 27 to May 1. The game will be free to everyone on Steam, but you will have to claim the game during the mentioned period.
Total War Shogun 2 is a turn-based strategy game set during the 16th Century of Medieval Japan. The game received critical acclaimed and even spawned a standalone expansion pack called Fall of the Samurai. This is a good game to get your feet wet if you haven’t tried any strategy game before.
There are a couple more free games you could try out as well. Epic Game Store is giving away Close to the Sun and Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments for free, thanks to its weekly freebies. Two more great games, Just Cause 4 and Wheels of Aurelia will also go free on EGS from April 16 to April 23.
So what do you think? Are you interested in any of these free games? Which game are you most looking forward to? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
