As excitement begins to die down from the release of the American Horror Story Season 6 teaser, some fans have begun to speculate what the teaser might mean. A logo, which looks like a cross between the number six and a question mark, appeared on AHS social media channels Tuesday. Now, fans wonder if the Season 6 theme may have something to do with the Antichrist.

The Morning Ledger has suggested the AHS teaser could be associated with the 666 mark of the Antichrist, while Zap2It noted the Antichrist could be a way to connect Season 6 back to Season 1. The first season of American Horror Story (subtitled Murder House ), concludes with the birth of a child, who is supposedly said Antichrist. Season 6 could possibly tie in that character into a new set of horrors.

Recent seasons have delved into how the entire show is one universe by returning to earlier characters and storyline threads. In Season 5, Hotel, we learn that the Countess goes to Dr. Charles Montgomery, who is a part of Season 1, to terminate a pregnancy. However, the pregnancy turns out to be a little bit too viable. Queenie from Season 3, Coven, ultimately dies in Season 5.

Many expect that Season 6 may include an arc about the Thacher school, mentioned in Season 5. AHS Executive Producer Ryan Murphy has said Season 6 may navigate the trope of children, so many are expecting the season may be chock-full of creepy kids.

So far the theme of American Horror Story Season 6 remains unknown. Another theme suggested by fans was American Horror Story: Apocalypse. However, there is a high possibility fans have confused this theme with X-Men: Apocalypse , a movie starting AHS alum Evan Peters. Early rumors suggested the theme of Season 6 might follow the internet meme Slender Man; however, the rumor was quickly discredited.

Reports indicate that filming for American Horror Story has already begun, but showrunners have given no confirmation. Currently, the AHS Season 6 cast includes Cheyenne Jackson, Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Denis O’Hare, Evan Peters, Leslie Jordan and Matt Bomer.

American Horror Story Season 6 is expected to premiere around October on FX.
