Microsoft has announced a massive sale for Xbox owners starting on Dec. 22. Called Countdown, the sale will feature games up to 60 percent off, and even more discounts for those who are Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

If you aren’t an Xbox Live Gold subscriber, getting your first month of service will only cost $1 from Dec. 21 to Jan. 9. Once you are a Gold subscriber, you’ll be able to play games online, get the free Games With Gold for the months of December and January, and save 10 percent extra in the Countdown sale.

While all of the deals haven’t been revealed by Microsoft, some of the confirmed games that will be included are Watch Dogs 2, Battlefield 1 and Final Fantasy XV. These new games probably will not be getting the 60 percent off tag, but will still be the lowest price yet for those who don’t have a copy. There will also be more than 40 Xbox 360 games on sale that are Backward Compatible for the Xbox One, if there’s a game you may have missed last generation.

Additionally, movies and TV shows will also be on sale. Recent releases like Deadpool, Batman v. Superman, and The Night Before will be $9.99, and TV series will get up to 50 percent off the original price. There will also be movie bundles on sale, like the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, an X-Men collection and an Alien collection.

The Countdown sale will continue to Jan. 9, so those who may be getting a new Xbox One as a gift will still have plenty of time to get in on the cheap gaming and movies.

So what do you think? Are you ready to get some new games during the Countdown sale? What do you hope will be given a reduced price? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
