Don’t download the new WWE 2K16 Future Stars DLC! This announcement comes straight from publisher 2K, who confirmed Xbox One and PS4 gamers could have their copies corrupted by downloading the new pack of wrestlers.

“We’re aware of an issue some users are experiencing with Universe Mode save data connected to the Future Stars Pack DLC,” Bryan Vore wrote on the 2K forums. Vore is a community manager at 2K. “If you are an active Universe Mode player on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we recommend waiting to download the Future Stars Pack until we fully investigate and resolve the issue. Thank you for your patience.”

WWE 2K16 fans began reporting issues to the official 2K forums quickly after downloading the new Future Stars wrestler pack. This DLC, which adds Samoa Joe, Los Matadores and Blake & Murphy, has been corrupting save files of those playing on Xbox One and PS4. 2K has confirmed that this issue will not affect Xbox 360 and PS3 users.

This is the second year that a WWE game has gotten messed up. WWE 2K15 had save data corruption issues as well, with those occurring when players left their game idling on the main screen for too long.

Hopefully 2K finds a fix quick and issues a patch. iDigitalTimes will be sure to provide an update when it is safe to download the Future Stars DLC.

So what do you think? Did you accidentally download the DLC for WWE 2K16 when it was released? Are you angry to see 2K messing up a WWE game for the second year in a row? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
