Bugbear confirmed plans to release Wreckfest on consoles over the weekend, appeasing those who’ve been asking about ports since the game’s 2013 Early Access debut, but the studio says it’s going to be a few months before we see Wreckfest make the jump to PS4 and Xbox One.

It’s been almost three years since the general public got its hands on Wreckfest, then known as Next Car Game, and boy have things changed during that 32 month window. For starters, the NCG Kickstarter campaign was ultimately a failure, leaving many fans hesitant to support Next Car Game when it hit Early Access during the 2013 holiday season. But Wreckfest flourished, selling roughly 300,000 copies (according to SteamSpy), despite focusing on a motorsport that doesn’t get much mainstream attention in 2016.

Now, Bugbear says it can finally confirm Wreckfest is coming to PS4 and Xbox One. The game is currently available for pre-order on both platforms and, just like the PC version, Bugbear says Wreckfest will initially be available via each console’s early access program. There’s currently no word on exactly when either version will emerge; however, the studio says fans can expect to see Wreckfest hit consoles sometime in 2017.

In addition to confirming console launch plans, Bugbear used its latest stint in headlines to announce the studio’s second project, Stuntfest. The studio is moving on from demolition derby, but not necessarily from the act of destroying automobiles, and will instead focus on the kinds of over-the-top stunts we used to see in games like Burnout 3: Takedown. Right now, all we know is that Stuntfest will launch in early access, following in the footsteps of Wreckfest, and the unfinished build will only cost $15.99 when it debuts this fall. Bugbear says fans can expect “a wacky vehicle-based physics playground” that lets you build and perform stunts using a variety of vehicles that include everything “from mobility scooters to shopping carts.” The studio also believes the final product will appeal to both racing fans and those not fond of driving for sport.
