In Empire Season 3, episode 7, which airs at 9 p.m. EST Wednesday, Cookie will have to navigate meeting Angelo’s mother. There is still buzz around her nude photos that leaked when Empire Entertainment was hacked, and Angelo’s mother Diana has the feeling that Cookie is not good enough for her son.
One episode 7 teaser shows Cookie getting advice from Jamal on how to connect with Diana (Phylicia Rashad), while another shows that Cookie is late for her meeting with Angelo and his mother. This doesn’t make Cookie look any better in Diana’s eyes. Cookie will later plan a family dinner for Diana in order to win her over, according to the episode synopsis.
Will Cookie be able to impress Diana? We will find out more during episode 7, “What We May Be,” which is best viewed on television or live online through Fox Now.
Meanwhile, viewers will learn more about Cookie’s backstory and what happened to her father. An episode 7 promo shows Cookie running to an ambulance, presumably carrying her father to the hospital. Cookie talks about how she and her father were close until she met Lucious.
