The Watch Dogs 2 gameplay trailer showcases the abilities of new protagonist Marcus Holloway, “a brilliant hacker fighting to take back control from this corrupted establishment.” It also shows off some character interaction based in the hacktivist and low-key hilarious attitude of Marcus and his Ded Sec colleagues. Unlike the first game, you can hack anything or anyone, including their cars, and manipulate them in various ways to achieve your desired result. For example, the trailer shows Marcus hacking a car and controlling its steering remotely. You can also perform mass hacks to distract great swathes of people by sending messages to their phones.
Part of gameplay involves running into other players who are also in single-player mode, giving you the opportunity to team up with them then and there for co-op mode.
Marcus has a variety of toys that assist him in his missions. In this full mission gameplay, he uses a scouting drone to take the lay of the land before diving in. Also revealed in previous interviews is a small remote control car, which can be used to project your hacking ability in places Marcus may be too conspicuous. These devices can be upgraded with additional functionalities.
Part of using hacking creatively to achieve mission goals involves hacking nonstandard objects, such as security cameras or even vehicles like cranes. This mission in question can be completed without even stepping foot inside the premises, but the player can also choose to ghost through or even go full aggressor. Even aggressor play-throughs can be completed non-lethally through the use of tools like the zapper, which will knock your opponents out.
