A new competition is arriving soon in War Thunder. Rankings Challenge is a regular competition where all players are invited to join, whether solo or with friends, using preset vehicles. Winning in these battles increases the rating of a player, and the higher the rating, the better the prizes.

Before the competition goes live, there's a test for the Rankings Challenge from September 6 to September 10. During this test mode, players get access to four competitions:

  • Wings of Prey 1 (Rank II)
    • September 6 to September 8
    • Day 1: Bf 109F-1 (Germany)
    • Day 2: Yak-1B (USSR)
  • Wings of Prey 2 (Rank IV)
    • September 8 to September 10
    • Day 1: Spitfire F Mk.XIVe (Britain)
    • Day 2: P-51D-30 (USA)
  • Shoulder to Shoulder 1 (Rank IV)
    • September 6 to September 8
    • Day 1: Char 25t (France)
    • Day 2: T-44 (USSR)
  • Shoulder to Shoulder 2 (Rank VI)
    • September 8 to September 10
    • Day 1: XM-803 (USA)
    • Day 2: Type 74 (E) (Japan)

Rewards

For the rewards, there are trophies and even a title available during the testing. Details include:

  • For 10 victories in each competition, players receive a special trophy containing one of the following items:
    • RP booster for 50% for 5 battles.
    • SL booster for 50% for 5 battles.
    • Wager set.
    • Orders set.
  • Players who place 1 through 100 in the leaderboards of “Wings of Prey (test season)” receive the “Gladiators” decal.
    • Players who place 1 through 1,000 receive the “Rankings Challenge tester” title.
  • Players who place 1 through 100 in the leaderboards of “Shoulder to Shoulder (test season)” receive the “Steel Legion” decal.
    • Players who place 1 through 1,000 will receive the “Rankings Challenge tester” title.

Future Plans

Once everything is done, the plan is to have regular new seasons of Rankings Challenge that last for at least a month with all types of vehicles and all nations available. In addition, Special formats could be introduced, like races or free deathmatch modes.

There’s also a plan of making some competitions of the Rankings Challenge as qualifications for larger competitions based on the existing tournament service. If such competitions happen, they’ll likely be held during mid-seasons and have streams and activities for the viewers.
