The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman believes there’s an end date for the show, but as long as people are interested in his characters, they’ll keep writing stories for fans.

Kirkman recently explained his logic behind keeping The Walking Dead around for another six seasons.

"It took us six seasons to get to 100," Kirkman told ComicBook.com. "It won’t take us six years to get to 200 and that will take us to season … TWELVE. And we’ll still be ahead of the show at that point."

The Walking Dead is still the most popular TV series, despite hitting a ratings slump with the introduction of Negan. People are upset about Abraham and Glenn’s deaths, and we don’t blame them. Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick on the show, recently explained to TheWrap that he understands the anger about the Negan events, but there’s more excitement to come.

“Obviously I’ve heard that people are not happy and that makes me unhappy because of the amount of work we all put into the show,” Lincoln said. “There is a sense of a bigger story that’s being told and I have absolute faith in Scott, the writing team, and the producers of the show. But I will say that I think the back eight are the exact opposite of the front eight.”

Negan was exactly what the show needed. We needed Negan to destroy the plot armor protecting some of the characters in the series. We need someone to challenge Rick. We needed fans to know Daryl is not safe, and we should cherish every moment he’s on-screen because it could be his last.

Am I the only one who thinks seeing Walker Daryl would be pretty fitting end for the character? Let me paint a picture for you. Negan captures Daryl. Negan tries to get information out of Daryl. Rick captures one of Negan’s men. Negan isn’t happy about this news. Negan offers a trade with Daryl. Negan arrives to Alexandria with Daryl wearing his signature vest, but he has a pillowcase over his head. Daryl walks over to Rick. Rick removes pillowcase. BAM! Walker Daryl. Negan opens fire.

Now that’s exciting! Don’t get me wrong, I’m team Daryl all the way. I don’t want to see Daryl die, but the guy has nine lives. He’s invincible at this point.

What do you think might happen to Daryl? Let us know in the comments below. The Walking Dead Season 7 returns in February 2017 to AMC.
