If you thought The Walking Dead Season 7 was brutal, wait until you see the next season. There will be blood in The Walking Dead Season 8. And walker guts.

Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick on the show, recently spoke t o the Los Angeles Times about The Walking Dead Season 7 finale. The cast members always say how epic the finale will be, but apparently this year’s finale will leave fans looking forward to Season 8.

"We’re going to come out swinging," Lincoln said. "And it’s not going to stop. I’m more excited for Season 8 than I’ve ever been. I think it’s going to be big, but it’s also going to be terrifying. And I mean that from the very depths of my cynical soul."

Let’s hope they don’t leave things on a cliffhanger like they did in The Walking Dead Season 6 finale. Not to open up old wounds, but the show ended with a first-person view of Negan’s Lucille victim, which turned out to be Abraham.

The cliffhanger was unnecessary. The show could’ve began with the aftermath of the Negan incident and fans would’ve be fine with it. Most fans believed that the victim was Abraham, Glenn or both. The series shot multiple deaths for that scene, including one of Maggie that leaked online.

This year, we’d like the show to end on a hopeful note. Rick doesn’t have to win the battle against the Saviors or anything, but at least wound Negan’s army or ego. What Season 7 did get right was building up the tension between the communities, so the battles to come will be much sweeter this time around.

The Walking Dead Season 7 finale airs Sunday, April 2 at 9 p.m. on AMC. What do you think will happen in the finale? Will Negan crush Rick or will Rick surprise Negan? Let us know in the comments below.
