The Walking Dead Season 7 will go out “with a bang,” according Josh McDermott’s latest interview. McDermott, who plays Eugene on the show, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what’s to come in the midseason finale.

Needless to say, nothing good will happen once Rick sees what Negan was up to while he was away from Alexandria.

“The wolf is in the hen house,” McDermitt said. “I think the phrase is ‘fox in the hen house,’ but Negan is very much a wolf. I would not call him a fox. The way the last episode ended, with him holding baby Judith, is pretty disgusting, and we’re gonna pick up shortly after that and see what goes down. You know, Rick right now is not in Alexandria. He’s off on a supply run or something with Aaron, so we’re gonna see more of that and what happens there. And hopefully, he can make it back to Alexandria in time to see Negan basically becoming the adoptive father to baby Judith and Carl. And everything is going to do go down in Alexandria.”

Hopefully this will be the kick in the pants Rick needs to sack up and try to take down Negan. Rick needs to realize as long as Negan lives, he’ll always be a threat to him. It’s gotten to the point where Rick can’t even leave Alexandria without worrying if Negan will show up unannounced. It’s insane that Rick has bowed down to him, but there’s nothing he can really do.

Meanwhile, Morgan and Carol are clueless about what’s going on in Alexandria. We’re waiting for Carol to learn about Daryl being captured so she can cover herself in walker guts and go full-on Scarol. There’s been too few episodes with Carol this season; we need a Daryl-Carol reunion. After she gets it in with Ezekiel though, she desperately needs some companionship or she’ll completely lose her mind.

Also, don’t forget Tara knows of the Oceanside community that’s filled with warrior women with a vendetta against Negan. Rick will eventually have the numbers, and we hope he give Negan an iron to face with a kiss from Lucille. It’s what Abraham would’ve wanted from Rick. No one would mourn Negan.

The Walking Dead Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
