If you’re one of those excited to play Far Cry 6 or Rainbow Six Quarantine, it looks like you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer. Just how long? Well, it could be as early as April 2021 or as late as 2022.

The delays were announced by Ubisoft through its half year earnings report. Chief Financial Officer Frédérick Duguet said in that same report that the two games were moved to FY 2021–22 in order “to leverage their full potential in the context of production challenges caused by COVID-19." Duguet added that these challenges were mainly “related to work from home.”

The delay was made despite the solid ratings received by the recently launched Watch Dogs: Legion along with the high expectations for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising.

Message from Rainbow Six Quarantine Team

While the Far Cry 6 team hasn’t released any statement, the Rainbow Six Quarantine Development Team did come out with a message for its fans. The Team said that as massive fans of the game themselves, they want to make sure their new project does justice to both the Rainbow Six universe and community. The Team went on to say that considering how ambitious this project is, they decided to give themselves more time to get things right and allow the game to reach its full potential.

Right now the Rainbow Six Quarantine team said that they are focusing not only on the overall polish, but also making sure that the game reaches the quality it deserves. The team went on to say that they have “spent a lot of the past few months working in exceptional conditions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’re thankful to have this extra time.”

Rainbow Six Quarantine is a squad based tactical shooter and is the fourteenth installment in the Rainbow Six franchise. The game is set several years in the future and has players form a three-person team working together to fight off against the increasing threat of a technological parasite. The game was first announced during E3 2019.

Far Cry 6, meanwhile, is a FPS game and is the sixth main entry in the Far Cry series. The game is set in a fictional island in the Caribbean known as Yara and ruled by the “El Presidente” Antón Castillo. Players take on the role of a guerilla fighter that’s attempting to bring down Castillo’s regime.
