Super Mario 3D World has launched an enhanced version for the Nintendo Switch that also comes with additional content. Officially titled Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, it’s going to be released on February 12. Here, players can take on an adventure with friends and family through online or local co-op multiplayer. It allows as many as four players to play together and take on the roles of, among others, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad.

Launching along with the game are two new amiibo figures which are available for purchase separately. The Cat Mario and Cat Peach amiibo offer in-game enhancements for the game. Meanwhile, Bowser and Bowser Jr. are set to play larger roles in the game while their amiibo figures are returning at select retailers.

Nick Chavez at Nintendo of America said that they hope players enjoy the game especially “with lots of feline fun to be had whether playing solo or with family and friends.”

Pre-order of the game is already live with the digital version priced at $59.99. Get the game here.

World Count Challenge

Nintendo announced as well that it’s launching a World Count Challenge for the Super Mario Bros. 35. In this special event, players around the world need to work together to complete goals. The first challenge starts January 18 and runs through January 25 with players needing to defeat 3.5 million Bowsers.

If that appears to be a large number, not to worry since there’s a lot of opportunities to do it. There’s the Special Battle for one, and another way called the 35-Players Battle Mode where players can beat Bowser as part of the regular gameplay. But to take part in the online battle, players need to have a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Players who defeat even just one Bowser during the event period receive 350 My Nintendo Platinum Points. There’s also one World Count Challenge in February and another in March.
