Sumo Digital Ltd. Is currently working on two new projects with publishing giant 2K. According to recent job postings, one of these projects may possibly be a first-person live service action game on PC and current consoles. Gary Dunn, who is the Managing Director of Sumo Digital, had this to say in the announcement posted on Sumo’s website: “We’re delighted to be working with 2K and look forward to disclosing details of the projects in due course.”

While most details are under wraps, Sumo Digital revealed that the development for these two projects will take place at its Sheffield Studio along with the recently acquired Red Kite Games. Red Kite Games worked on multiple projects including high profile ones such as God of War 3 Remastered and the mobile game Call of Duty: Strike Team.

Although both 2K and Sumo Digital are adamant about keeping the two projects under secrecy, their job postings may be bread crumbs that can lead some to assume that it may be a multiplayer first-person title. Preferences for the animator position calls for first person experience and the programmer position call for those who have had experience with multiplayer games.

Sumo Digital is a Britain based video game developer currently located in Sheffield, England. Founded in 2003 by four members of the management team of Infogrames Studio, Sumo Digital now employs 500 people (as of 2018) and has helped with development on titles such as Forza Horizon (2,3 and 4), Forza Motorsport 7, Hitman, and Hitman 2. Currently, the studio is working with publisher Deep Silver for the sequel to 2011 survival horror game Dead Island.

2K Games, meanwhile, is an American video game publisher based in Novato, California. 2K operates under holding company Take-Two Interactive with sister publishing label Rockstar Games. Some of its most notable franchises include the Borderlands franchise, with its latest installment Borderlands 3 coming soon on October 25. Also, part of 2K Games repertoire is RTS franchise Sid Meier’s Civilization series and first-person action adventure shooter Bioshock series.
