‘The Division’ News: Ubisoft Marketing Machine Kicks Into High Gear With Live Action Miniseries

There's been shortage of reason to talk about Tom Clancy's The Division this week and Ubisoft is looking to keep that hype train rolling with a new miniseries that tells the stories of four agents from The Division.

If there was any doubt Tom Clancy’s The Division would get the same wall-to-wall marketing campaign we’ve seen for other Ubisoft releases, the last couple of weeks have probably put those doubts to rest. The latest addition to the growing number of reasons to write about The Division is a new live-action series set in the weeks preceding the game’s main story.

Just a few hours after publishing the teaser trailer for a new live-action series set in the same world as Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ubisoft has rolled out the first episode of a new four-part series meant to provide more context for why New York City is in such disarray at the outset of The Division. The new series follows four Agents, each of whom was activated shortly after the biological attack that crippled the city, as they do what they can to restore order to Manhattan.

Naturally, since Ubisoft never misses an opportunity to force Uplay on the general public, the new series has a tie-in promotion that gives fans of Tom Clancy’s The Division the chance to earn a bit of in-game loot before The Division is even on store shelves. Of course, since the new promotion requires a Uplay account, we’re probably going to pass. But it seems like a nice offer for anyone fond of Ubisoft’s digital marketplace; particularly those already content with some free entertainment on a Tuesday afternoon.

If you haven’t yet, spend a few minutes to watching the first episode of Ubisoft’s new four-part series, The Division: Agent Origins, then head down to the comments section and let us know whether or not you’re looking forward to the March debut of Tom Clancy’s The Division.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game is currently scheduled to debut on March 8.
