Bioware and Lucasfilm’s free-to-play online RPG Star Wars: The Old Republic will be getting a new expansion on Dec. 2, free to all subscribers. Check out the “Betrayed” cinematic trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Eternal Throne below:

In a press release, the new expansion’s plot is summarized as follows:

“Knights of the Eternal Throne puts the player at the center of their own explosive battle to rule the galaxy. As the Outlander, a veteran of the Great Galactic War, players will have the power to make their mark based on their light and dark side choices. Stakes are high as the player faces the most powerful villains in the galaxy including Emperor Valkorion and Empress Vaylin, as you lead the fight to take control of the Eternal Throne!”

New to Star Wars: The Old Republic is the Galactic Command system that comes with ruling the galaxy, offering greater power and influence. You can fight alone or with friends in light and dark side battles and confront Uprisings for powerful rewards. You can also customize the challenge you face with three different difficulty levels.

As for pre-order rewards, those subscribed by Oct. 25 can enjoy mercenary bounter hunter Shae Vizla as their new companion. If you subscribe by Nov. 27, you get the Rapid Recon Walker Mount, and if you are subscribed throughout the whole period, you’ll receive three days of early access to the new expansion.
