Star Wars: Episode 8 director Rian Johnson shared a photo from the editing room on social media. Star Wars: Episode 8 has entered post-production!

The photo, captioned “Day One!”, shows that editing has begun on the follow-up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which will be the next Lucasfilm/Disney Star Wars theatrical release after this year’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

It’s unclear exactly who we’re seeing in the photo, but it’s probably Episode 8 editor Bob Ducsay (who also edited Johnson’s movie Looper).

There are no plot spoilers to be had, no little hints at what’s in store for us in Star Wars: Episode 8. Just a periodic reminder that the Dec. 15, 2017 Star Wars: Episode 8 release date draws ever nearer.
