It looks like there’s another SpongeBob game that fans can enjoy. SpongeBob’s Idle Adventures is arriving on Android and iOS devices this summer. The game has players go on an underwater journey in the SpongeBob universe.

The game starts as a typical day in Bikini Bottom. Sandy Cheeks is celebrating her birthday and invited her close friends. Unsurprisingly, Patrick accidentally breaks the vortex machine and as a result, sends everyone off to a new dimension.

Fans get to enjoy all of the fun and madness with their favorite characters like SpongeBob, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and Plankton, to name a few. Ultimately, everyone must find a way back to the real Bikini Bottom.

In a statement, Kongregate Chief Product Officer Tammy Levy revealed that they are happy to partner again with Nickelodeon to come out with a new SpongeBob game for mobile devices. She went on to say that SpongeBob is not just loved by many across the world but has become a cultural icon. Levy added that they are excited to offer a new SpongeBob adventure to everyone.

SpongeBob’s Idle Adventures is developed by Kongregate, which has 15 years of experience when it comes to free-to-play games. They originally offered web-based games but have since shifted to mobile gaming by partnering with many top-tier entertainment brands.

Other SpongeBob Games

Early this year, a mobile version of another SpongeBob game was released. Originally available for PC and consoles, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated eventually arrived on mobile in January 2021. Basic gameplay involves collecting items and defeating enemies that attack Bikini Bottom. Read more about that here.

Back in April, Spongebob: Krusty Cook-Off was launched on Nintendo Switch. It was initially released as a mobile game before being introduced to a new platform. This one is more specific as players take over the kitchen to cook and serve delicious meals. It’s not all cooking since players can interact with many characters and visit landmarks like Sandy’s Treedome. Read more about it here.

So what about you? Have you tried all the SpongeBob games mentioned? What about the new one? Excited to try it out?
