The Sims 4: Most Widely Played Title in the Franchise

Congratulations!
Congratulations! EA

With more than 70 million players worldwide, The Sims 4 is the most widely played title in the 23-year history of the franchise. First launched in 2014, the game remains a digital platform for players to discover and connect their experiences, ideas, and versions of themselves without boundaries, not just in-game but also in real life.

One possible reason for the increase in the number of players is likely the base game becoming free-to-download in October 2022. At least 16 million new players are said to have downloaded the game to date with average weekly users increased by 53%.

It’s also worth noting that the game experienced global expansion with 75% of new unique players being outside of North America, particularly the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, and Brazil. New players have also been jumping the catalog of at least 60 packs and kits.

In a statement, The Sims 4 Executive Producer Phillip Ring shared that it truly is incredible to see just how much the community has grown for the past eight years. He went on to say that they know the game continues to be a creative outlet for players and the team continues to work to deliver new and innovative gameplay content.

Growing Together

For many game kits released for The Sims 4, Growing Together is considered as the most successful expansion pack. The expansion’s launch week experienced more sales compared to any other expansion pack launch-week since packs were introduced in 2015.

Growing Together introduces features that many have been requesting - family dynamics, new life stages, and milestones. There was also the free update which added the infant life stage to the game.

New Update

A new update is now live which adds new decoration options that's sure to help players add personal touch to their builds, along with new underwear options.

The highlight is the Sims Sessions collab with Becca Hatch. Australian singer Becca Hatch and producer Tentendo worked with The Sims 4 to bring Blessed, or should that be Boofed, when Sims tune in to the pop radio station. Don't forget to watch this Sims Sessions episode since Becca is going to share her inspirations and show off what goes into singing a song in Simlish.

The Sims 4 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
