Last week Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare released a new patch which included a new map called Bazaar, Giant Infection, and Boots on the ground war along with general fixes for challenges. Along with all these updates, the developers also added a few other changes into the game which weren’t included in the patch notes.

The change the February 25 update included is a buff for this SMG, which stepped forward its variety and aiming down sight speed. However, there was some other buffs to this weapon, one which was not disclosed by the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer. The .45 ACP Hollow Point rounds attachment, which turns the submachine gun right into a burst weapon that fires two rounds at once, got an enormous raise in its damage dealt.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Patch Notes

First up are the fixes to Challenges.

Challenges:

  • Fixed a bug for the “Kills with Enemy Weapon” Karma challenge not tracking properly
  • Fixed Daily Challenges that require you to get an X number of kills with an enemy weapon
  • Fix for an objective when completing Golem’s Operator Mission that requested 5 Kills with lethal equipment but was tracking with killstreaks.
  • “Alliance” Objective 6: Complete any 4 Co-Op Operations has been fixed
  • “Alliance” Objective 2: Requires 50 Juggernaut kills with Otter as your Coalition Operator. This has been fixed

The updates to the .45 APC Hollow Point rounds attachment are as follows:

Stats before the patch

  • Damage to torso: 48-34-24
  • Shots to Kill: 3-5

Stats after the patch

  • Damage to torso: 50-35-25
  • Shots to Kill: 2-4

The stats above are for damage at different ranges but it is important to note that the weapon is capable of taking an enemy down with a single burst from close range.

Other updates include:

Buff to Spotter perk

The Spotter perk has also been secretly buffed with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update. This perk allows players to see enemy equipment, field upgrades, and killstreaks through walls and mark them for their teammates.

Now, players are able to hack and take control of enemy equipment with this perk.

Warzone is free-to-play

Warzone, from what we've heard so far, might be standalone. For one thing, it sets itself aside from being Blackout by being free-to-play. There are also some intriguing-sounding gameplay differences. For one thing, it may allow up to 200 players. Removed players can move to try fighting their way back into the game in a form in 1 vs. 1 matches, at the same time as other players watch.

Warzone has a chance to compete with the other Battle Royale games such as Apex Legends and Fortnite. Nothing has been officially announced by Activision and Infinity Ward yet, but we can expect the game mode to launch soon enough according to rumors.

Needless to say, it's obviously a bit concerning for players that Infinity Ward continues to make these kinds of changes without announcing them in each update's patch notes.

So, what are your thoughts on the new secret updates to Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare? Do you think the new changes should have been announced in the original patch notes and do you think the new Buffs to weapons are going to change the gameplay? Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
