The wait is over as Rocket Arena is finally here. This 3v3 shooter is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and allows for crossplay. The game offers fast-paced combat that is unlike any other in its genre.
You can watch the cinematic launch trailer below:
Rocket Arena was officially launched on Tuesday and immediately gave players access to all 10 of its playable heroes. Each hero comes with their own unique personality, playstyle, and of course, a signature rocket launcher. While the goals of Rocket Arena differ depending on what game mode you are playing, the overall objective is more about knocking your opponents out of the arena than dealing damage.
The game itself offers 100 levels of progression along with 10 diverse maps and 22 gameplay changing artifacts. It has four competitive games modes and a cooperative mode. For those who aren’t sure how to play it, not to worry as there’s also a practice mode and even a training level.
The game also boasts different and unique mechanics that hope to enhance the player experience. There’s the Blast Meter, for instance, which tells players just how far their opponents are going to fly as they try to knock them out of the arena. Even when KO’d, players can continue to be part of the action. Once a player has been KO’d, they can fly back to the arena, look at the current situation, and then return to the fight.
In a press release, Co-Founder of developer Final Strike Games Kevin Franklin revealed that Rocket Arena is a unique hero shooter that’s unlike anything anyone has ever seen. He went on to say that while the game may offer “fun and frantic combat” that is quick to grasp on the surface, “behind the curtain there is a robust, deep game that’s highly competitive, full of rockets, and challenging to master.” Through its partnership with EA, Final Games was able to develop an uncompromised vision of Rocket Arena. Franklin added that even though the game was just launched, they “already have tons of free post-launch content in the works and can’t wait to share what else we have in store for all out players.”
Talking about post-launch content, Rocket Arena is going to offer a seasonal model of around three months long, adding new characters and limited-time events that feature new maps and new modes, all for free. Each season is also going to dive even deeper into the lore behind the heroes and the world of Crater at large.
The first season is set to start on July 28 and is going to introduce a new playable hero known as Flux. It’s also going to offer a lot of new things including more than 10 new playlists and even daily and weekly challenges.
The Standard Edition of Rocket Arena is available for $29.99. A Mythic Edition can be purchased for $39.99. The Mythic Edition comes with all content in the Standard Edition plus other goodies like the Mythic Guardian Phoenix Jayto Outfit, two Epic VFX trails, and 1,000 Rocket Fuel.
