"Red Dead Redemption" is finally coming to mobile, but this is not thanks to Rockstar Games. Instead, it is thanks to Netflix, which has recently collaborated with the company to bring iconic titles to users via Netflix Games.
'Red Dead Redemption' Is Coming to Mobile via Netflix
Rockstar Games officially announced that "Red Dead Redemption" is coming to mobile platforms thanks to Netflix. The gaming company shared a new trailer that showcases the 15-year-old game, that is still offering a fresh experience to mobile.
The game would soon be available on mobile on December 2, and it would be available to both iOS and Android platforms without any additional costs apart from their active Netflix subscription.
Similar to previous games Netflix hosted in the past, users would have to open the app first and then select the game once it is available. They may then download it via the App Store or Play Store without incurring additional charges.
"Red Dead Redemption's" arrival on the mobile gaming platform was first discovered by Wario64 after finding the listings for the said game on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
This mobile version of "Red Dead Redemption" is only a port for iOS and Android, but it is unknown which version of the game's release will be ported.
'RDR's 'Undead Nightmares' DLC Is Also Coming
Alongside the base game's arrival on mobile gaming platforms, Rockstar Games is also throwing in a free downloadable content that has been a beloved expansion in the game for years. The "Undead Nightmare" DLC is also coming to the mobile gaming platforms as part of this collaboration with Netflix Games.
The last iteration of "Red Dead Redemption" from Rockstar Games is the remastered and ported version of the game that made it available to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. In 2024, the PC port version finally came out after a long wait, but Rockstar Games has yet to deliver it on modern gaming platforms, including the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
Another good news for fans is the confirmation from Rockstar Games via the recent trailer drop as not only is it coming to mobile, but the company is also porting it to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and the Switch 2 on December 2.
Despite this, "Red Dead Redemption 2's" next-gen update is still not yet available from Rockstar Games on any platform.
