Rainbow Six Siege's North American League 2020 stage two concluded its sixth playday and the results are here. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the matches have been held online. The North American League had some really exciting matches to watch this week, with all the matches played as a best of three format. We got to see a variety of maps in play, teaching us new strategies that can be implemented into our own games.

The matchup between DarkZero and Oxygen was the most anticipated match of the sixth playday. The first map was played on Consulate, which is an attacker-sided map. DZ banned Nomad so that the defenders can run around more freely. OXG attacked the first lobby site really well, but when it came down to execution, OXG was unable to clear Jager on spiral stairs, which allowed DZ to take the first round.

The fourth round was played on Archives/Servers site, which is rare in almost every region except North America. NA usually picks this site to avoid going to the top floor, which is much harder to hold for defenders. The first split ended with a 3-3 score, which was pretty good for DZ. Tyler "Ecl9pse" McMullin was an instrumental player for DZ, as he carried DZ with 13 kills playing flex operators such as Dokkabei and Mozzie. DZ won the first map with a 7-5 scoreline.

The second map was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky, which is a defender-sided map. The Ace and Maverick ban made the match even more defender-favored than usual. DarkZero’s first round on defense was something the viewers hadn't seen before. DZ picked operators such as Jager, Smoke, Mira, Maestro, and Warden on the Bar site. The Warden pick was just so DZ could carry around an extra shield due to the Wamai ban. The mixture of denial operators and utility operators slowed down Oxygen, allowing DZ to take the first round easily.

The first half ended with DZ taking a 4-2 lead and Alexander "Skys" Magor carrying DZ with seven kills before rehost. DZ was able to carry this momentum on attack and went 6-2, but then OXG started making amazing plays to win multiple rounds. OXG was almost at match point, but DZ took a risky move and increased their pace on the final round, which allowed DZ to win the final round before it went into overtime. DZ won the second map with a 7-5 scoreline.

Another good match to watch was between the Soniqs and Disrupt Gaming. The first map was played on Oregon, which is a utility-heavy map. DG was super dominant on the first few attack rounds as they were able to clear utility and frag at the same time. Kevin "Easilyy" Skokowski almost clutched a massive 1v4 situation in the fourth round as Smoke. Easilyy was hiding under big window waiting for DG to push. Easilyy proceeded to knife the first player and then shoot the other two DG players. However, Nick "njr" Rapier stopped Easilyy from completely clutching the fourth round. The first split ended with DG winning four rounds on attack, which is really good for a utility heavy map like Oregon. DG was able to maintain the same pace on the defense and won the first map with a 7-4 scoreline.

The second match was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky, which is a utility-heavy map. Neither team showed any impressive strategies, as both DG and the Soniqs relied heavily on gunfights. The Soniqs were able to win majority of the gunfights, which allowed them to take the second map with a 7-5 scoreline.

The final decider map was played on Villa. This match was super interesting to watch as we got to see both teams winning alternative rounds until the first split. DG tried playing their defense with Goyo and Melusi to burn Soniqs' utility, but Soniqs read into DG’s strategy and played operators to clear and destroy the defender utlitly. Alex "SlebbeN" Nordlund was the MVP for Soniqs, as he carried his team with 14 kills. This win for the Soniqs adds three points on the leaderboard, which might help them from being relegated at the end of the season.
