Rainbow Six Siege North American League Stage 2 has finished its eighth playday. The top four teams from this region will qualify for the Six August 2021 Major, which is held in Mexico. The North American League is currently being played on LAN following COVID-19 preventive measures.
Team SoloMid vs. Susquehanna Soniqs
The matchup between these two teams was played on Villa, which is a defender-sided map. The Sledge ban from Soniqs was weird but it was to prevent the attacking side from clearing vertically. TSM started on defense and won five rounds without much trouble. This was mainly because of Soniqs' poor coordination on attack, which made it difficult for them to counter TSM’s defense strategy. TSM won the first half with a 5-1 scoreline. After the side switch, Soniqs started to gain momentum by winning rounds on defense. However, TSM was able to finish the game because of the score advantage.
TSM won the game with a 7-4 scoreline. This win for TSM puts them in second place and confirms their spot for the Six Major. Susquehanna Soniqs follow them in third place but must win the next match if they want to qualify for the Six Major.
TSM won most of the games playing with their coach as their fifth player had visa issues and was unable to play during Stage 2.
DarkZero Esports vs. Oxygen Esports
The match was played on Clubhouse, which is a defender-sided map. DarkZero banned Buck so their opponents have trouble playing vertically. Both teams played really well as they took the first half with a 3-3 scoreline. The second half was also intense as both teams went to overtime. DarkZero was able to close the game on the final round of overtime with an 8-7 scoreline.
DarkZero currently sits in fourth place and has a chance to qualify for Six Major if they win the next match. On the other hand, Oxygen, the team that dominated Stage 1 by getting first place, is currently in seventh place during Stage 2 and has no chance to qualify for the Six Majors.
