It's the end of January, and we had a pretty solid start to our 2016 in terms of new games. What's even better is that February looks like it will be a bigger month for releases. There are plenty of games coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so let's get started.

Note: These are the known release dates at the time of this article’s publishing. Things may change from now to the end of February.

Multi-Platform Games

Below are the games coming to both Xbox One and PS4 in February.

The first game coming to both Xbox One and PS4 on Feb. 9 is Arslan: The Warriors of Legend. Merging The Heroic Legend of Arslan with Dynasty Warriors gameplay, Arslan: The Warriors of Legend will be kind of like Hyrule Warriors, but with less Zelda.

Also coming Feb. 9 is Dying Light: The Following. This expansion looks to tell the story of Kyle Crane not found in the base Dying Light game.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is the next entry in the Naruto line of games. This fighting game will be coming to both Xbox One and PS4 on Feb. 9.

Alekhine’s Gun is a third-person stealth game that will be coming to Xbox One and PS4 on Feb. 9. Set during the events of the Cold War, featuring WWII flashback sequences, players will sneak their way to getting their missions accomplished.

Unravel looks to be the charming underdog of the February release schedule. Players take on the role of Yarny as they help the little ball of fuzz reconnect a family. Expect plenty of tears when Unravel released on Feb. 9.

Looking to continue the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles story, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia will be coming out on Feb. 9. This 2D stealth action game sees players take on the role of Nikolai Orelov in 1918 Russia. This is, of course, during the fall of the Tsar and the rise of the Bolsheviks.

Looking to get scared? Layers of Fear is a first-person psychedelic horror game that puts a heavy focus on story and exploration. Be prepared to change your pants when Layers of Fear is released on Feb. 16.

Pixel Piracy lets players take on the role of a pirate captain. This means you get to build your ship, build your crew, and take to the open seas. Pixel Piracy will be coming to Xbox One and PS4 on Feb. 16.

Far Cry Primal will be an interesting deviation from the traditional Far Cry games. This time around, players are cavemen who must defend and help grow their tribe. Far Cry Primal comes out on PS4 and Xbox One on Feb. 23. The PC version comes out on March 1.

Agatha Christie's The ABC Murders looks to recreate the classic novel in a point and click video game style. Players take on the role of the famous detective tasked with solving the case. Agatha Christie’s The ABC Murders comes out on Feb. 26.

Toki Tori 2+ is the updated version of Toki Tori 2 that has already been released on Wii U. The Xbox One and PS4 version of the game will be coming on Feb. 23.

We also have Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2. The sequel to the surprise third-person shooter hit will be releasing on Feb. 23. Make sure you have plenty of sunshine for all those plants!

Lastly, we have The Walking Dead: Michonne coming at some point in February for Xbox One and PS4. This three-episode series from Telltale doesn’t have a firm start date yet, but will tell the story of Michonne, one of the coolest characters in the Walking Dead universe.

PS4 Games

Below are the games coming to PS4 in February.

Crypt of the Necrodancer is the first game coming to PS4 in February. While Crypt of the Necrodancer is already out on PC, Feb. 2 will mark the game’s console debut on PS4.

Also coming to PS4 on Feb. 2 is Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel. This fighting game may sound like a kids toy from the late 90s, but is a port of a popular arcade game. Fighting fans, you have another option now.

Another game coming out on Feb. 2 for the PS4 is Not A Hero. While Not A Hero is already available on PC, Feb. 2 will serve as a console debut. Not A Hero is a tactical shooter game presented in an 8-bit style.

One of the more interesting games coming to PS4 in February, Amazing Discoveries in Outer Space looks to blend the successes of games like Kerbal Space Program and the classic Lunar Lander together with others for a strange little game. Expect to see Amazing Discoveries in Outer Space coming on Feb. 2.

Megadimension Neptunia VII will also be coming to PS4 on Feb. 2. This is very much a JRPG, so get ready if you are a fan of the genre. It all looks very… Japanese.

Coming to both PS4 and PS Vita on Feb. 2, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth looks to continue the Digimon game line. This time around, there’s a virtual reality service that has become part of everyday life. I bet it becomes evil!

A remake of the classic game, Gravity Rush Remastered will be coming to both PS4 and PS Vita on Feb. 9. Control gravity as you save the world from total destruction. If you haven’t played this classic yet, now’s the perfect time.

Moving ahead to Feb. 9, we see one of the games I’m most looking forward to: Firewatch. Taking place in some sort of big park, players take on the role of a park ranger. Firewatch will be coming to both PS4 and PC.

Of all the fighting games to get excited about, you might as well pick the biggest one. Street Fighter V will be coming to PS4 and PC on Feb. 16.

Xbox One Games

Below are the games coming to Xbox One in February.

The first game coming to Xbox One in February is the Mojang-published Cobalt. Releasing on Feb. 2 for both Xbox One and PC, Cobalt is an action-oriented side-scrolling game with players shooting, punching and dodging their way to victory over multiple different game modes.

The second game coming to Xbox One in February is Rocket League. It should be noted that Rocket League is already available to play on PC and PS4. There’s no set date for Rocket League to release on Xbox One, but we know it’s coming some time in February.

Winner

This month is pretty obvious who the winner is. As much as I want to give it to Xbox One and the launch of Rocket League, the PS4 has a much better line-up of new games. Also, seeing as how Rocket League is already on the PS4, the Xbox One launch isn’t quite as exciting.

So what do you think? Are you excited about any of the above games getting released? What games are you looking forward to in March? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
