One of the exciting things that players can expect when playing Pokémon games is meeting or going against other trainers or teams. In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, everyone gets the chance to face Team Galactic.

For those not familiar with the lore, Team Galactic is a criminal organization based in the Sinnoh region. Leading this organization is a person by the name of Cyrus, who’s often referred to by minions as either “Master Cyrus” or simply “The Boss" by his underlings. If anything, he hates human minds and emotions since he considers them as defective. Players will meet him in the game with his Pokémon Weavile.

Here are the other members of Team Galactic that players can look forward to:

  • Mars
    • Mars is a strong-willed commander loyal to Cyrus and hates to lose.
    • Her passion when it comes to Pokémon often inspires powerful emotional outbursts.
    • Her partner Pokémon is Purugly.
  • Jupiter
    • Jupiter has one sure thing and that is an air of mystery around her.
    • She is skilled in Pokémon battles, but she will also do anything to achieve her goals.
    • Her partner Pokémon is Skuntank.
  • Saturn
    • Saturn is a cool and collected commander.
    • He often doubts Cyrus’s plans but remains cold and dispassionate enough to make sure that orders are carried out faithfully.
    • His partner Pokémon is Toxicroak.

In addition to Team Galactic, some powerful Gym Leaders are appearing in the game, which includes:

  • Candice
    • Candice is the Leader of the Snowpoint City Gym.
    • Her partner is the Ice-type Pokémon Abomasnow.
    • She’s known as the Diamond Dust Girl and is seen as a passionate Trainer who emphasizes the value of focus.
  • Volkner
    • Volkner is the Leader of Sunyshore City Gym.
    • He partners with the Electric-type Pokémon Luxray.
    • Considered the strongest Gym Leader in the Sinnoh region, he’s grown bored because of the lack of tough challengers.
    • He spends his time constantly remodeling the Gym.

Think you can take them on?

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are coming out this November 19 on Nintendo Switch.
